The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested 3 individuals, together with a lady, suspected of being a part of a theft community working in portions of Obuasi. 

The suspects have been known as Aziz Abubakar, sometimes called Romeo, Faraway Amari, and Patience Asare. 

A press unlock issued by means of the Command and copied to the Ghana News Agency mentioned the arrests have been made all the way through a coordinated operation. 

“The arrests were made on February 15, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation at Mangoase near Pokukrom, where Police raided several hideouts linked to the gang,” it mentioned. 

The unlock mentioned pieces retrieved all the way through the operation integrated a pump motion gun with ammunition, machetes, a bayonet, battle boots, one 9mm spherical and money amounting to GH¢20,000.00, suspected to be proceeds from felony actions. 

“Police retrieved a pump action gun with ammunition, machetes, a bayonet, combat boots, one 9mm round, and cash amounting to GH¢20,000.00, suspected to be proceeds from criminal activities,” it mentioned. 

The Command mentioned investigations had connected two of the suspects to the killing of 3 individuals at Breme close to Bechem within the Bono Region in March 2025. 

It mentioned efforts have been underway to trace down different accomplices and recuperate further guns.
