The Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has criticised the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) over its reaction to President John Mahama’s contemporary feedback on cocoa pricing.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen display, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu disregarded claims through some NPP communicators that the President erred through pointing out he’s a cocoa farmer for my part suffering from manufacturer worth choices.

He described the grievance as a planned try to sow discontent towards the President, insisting there was once not anything mistaken together with his remarks.

“It’s the NPP propagandists who believe that the President’s statement about being a farmer affected by cocoa pricing is a bad thing. It’s a complete waste of time trying to explain the President’s statement to such individuals. There is nothing wrong with what he said; it seems to be a deliberate effort to create discontent toward the President where none exists. They will always find fault with his remarks,” he stated.

Mr. Kwakye Ofosu additional puzzled the NPP’s unexpected fear for cocoa farmers, asking, “When did the NPP start caring so much about Ghanaians?”

He argued that all over classes when international cocoa costs had been prime, farmers allegedly gained a smaller proportion of the proceeds, accusing the former supervision of failing to prioritise their welfare.

He instructed critics to concentrate on substantive cocoa technology problems moderately than politicising the President’s private enjoy as a farmer.

“It is true that he is a cocoa farmer, and that is a fact. The NPP wants us to waste our time on non-issues. If you want to discuss cocoa issues, you can do so without referencing the President’s comments. When did the NPP start caring so much about Ghanaians? Suddenly, they have developed an interest in cocoa farmers, but where were they when pensioners needed assistance? At a time when cocoa sold for 10,000 Ghana cedis on the world market, they were giving cocoa farmers only 30%, while taking 70% for themselves,” he said.
