The Western Regional Police Command has intercepted two Kia vans loaded with luggage of a substance suspected to be hashish.  

The automobiles, with registration numbers GE 8965-12 and GS 3368-17, had been stopped on the Assorku Barrier within the Shama Municipality and the Nkroful Junction in Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, respectively, on Sunday, February 22, 2026. 

Superintendent Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) on the Western Regional Police Headquarters, mentioned a truck loaded with luggage containing a substance coated with sawdust, travelling at the Accra freeway against Takoradi, used to be intercepted, and one individual used to be arrested.

Supt Adiku mentioned the arrest due to this fact resulted in the interception of some other car on the Nkroful Junction, which used to be additionally loaded with the similar substance.

She recommended the cops on accountability for his or her professionalism and vigilance, announcing, “If not for their vigilance, this truck with 152 bales would have passed to Côte d’Ivoire or wherever they were heading.” 

She inspired them to be extra alert on accountability so that miscreants passing during the corridors could be arrested.
