The Bodi District place of job of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) within the Western North Region has engaged citizens on social auditing to advertise transparency and duty in native governance.

The engagement equipped a platform for the folks to spot gaps in coverage implementation and assess carrier supply to foster shared duty for business owner.

Speaking at the theme: “Rule of law and fight against corruption”, Mr Stephen Baidoo, the Bodi District Chief Executive (DCE), said that the Assembly had initiated a large number of ongoing initiatives within the more than a few communities around the district for which some could be finished very quickly.

He implored the folks to give protection to each ongoing and finished initiatives of their communities to verify they benefited each present and long term generations.

“Government spends a lot in bringing those projects and it’s for our interest and well-being that those projects are there, so we should keep our eyes on them so that they can last long,” he added.

Mr Awudu Dramani Sam, the Western North Regional Director of the NCCE, mentioned the social auditing programme used to be well timed and related as a result of corruption remained one of the most biggest threats to native governance, nationwide business owner, and social justice.

He said that social auditing empowered the voters to be energetic individuals within the executive structure, including that it helped the voters to be “watchdogs” of responsibility bearers

“More importantly, social auditing allows citizens to track development in the community level and seek accountability from people entrusted with power,” Mr Sam mentioned.
