President John Mahama has suggested officials of the Ghana Police Service to exhibit accountability, professionalism and strict adherence to protection protocols because the Service receives 40 new armoured and light-armoured cars to reinforce nationwide safety operations.

Speaking on the handing-over rite on the Police Headquarters in Accra on Thursday, December 4, President Mahama addressed the officials who will function the newly procured fleet, reminding them of the worth of the machines and the obligation hooked up to their use.

“To the officers who will be operating these vehicles, I wish to address you directly,” he started. “These equipments are expensive and hard to procure. So, you must use them judiciously and according to the rules.”

He stressed out that the security of police body of workers will have to stay a concern: “Your protection is vital. Always observe the security directions, put on seat belts when you find yourself using those cars in order that you offer protection to your self,” he cautioned.

The President hailed the cars as crucial tools for the Police Service’s mandate to safeguard lives and belongings, whilst stressing that their have an effect on depends on the self-discipline and integrity of the officials running them.

“These machines are instruments of responsibility to the Police Service,” he mentioned. “Use them professionally, lawfully and ethically. And let your conduct reflect the honour of your uniform and the trust the people of Ghana place in you.”

The new armoured fleet is predicted to improve police mobility, reinforce officer coverage all over high-risk operations, and reinforce the Service’s capability to reply unexpectedly to rising safety threats.
