The twenty fourth African Senior Athletics Championships will formally start on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Accra, Ghana, Ghana Athletics has showed.

In a remark issued following approval from the Minister for Sports and Recreation and the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA), Ghana officially affirmed its standing as host of the continental championships, which can run till Sunday, May 17, 2026.
