🔥 Latest News: Afenyo-Markin declines touch upon ECOWAS Parliament controversy – Life Pulse Daily

📰 Discover the main points:

Minority Leader and New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has declined to remark at the fresh ECOWAS Parliament saga, pronouncing some issues are absolute best left for time and birthday party deliberations.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning display Dwaso Nsem, Mr Afenyo-Markin stated, “I won’t respond to that matter; let’s talk about something else.”

When requested if he would seem earlier than the Privileges Committee, he added, “It’s not everything that you respond to; you leave it for time. As a member of the NPP, the party will talk about it. Not every issue requires a public statement.”

His feedback observe allegations through Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga that Afenyo-Markin is in contempt of Parliament and must be referred to the Privileges Committee for disciplinary motion.

The allegation stems from Afenyo-Markin’s participation within the ECOWAS Parliament consultation held in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, from September 25 to twenty-eight, 2025, in spite of his removing from Ghana’s professional delegation.

In Parliament on Tuesday, Ayariga cited Order 31(O) of the Standing Orders, which defines contempt as any act or omission that affronts the distinction or authority of Parliament or brings its identify into disrepute.

He argued that through attending the consultation after being excluded, the Minority Leader had “clearly affronted the authority of Parliament” and should be held responsible.
