🔥 Breaking News: Dr. Asah Asante says Kpandai parliamentary row pushed via politics, no longer legislation – Life Pulse Daily

📰 Check out the main points:

Political Scientist and Senior Lecturer on the University of Ghana, Dr Kwame Asah-Asante, has stated the continued tensions in Parliament over the Kpandai election case are pushed via politics fairly than legislation.

Speaking at the AM Show on Wednesday, December 10, Dr Asah-Asante defined that when taking note of the Majority Leader’s feedback, it used to be transparent to him that the subject had taken a political flip.

“From what I listened to from the majority leader… my understanding is that it’s nothing but pure politics and tactics that they employ, other than law,” he stated.

He stated that no matter movements Parliament takes can’t overrule a courtroom ruling. “Whatever decision they took in Parliament, if the court pronounces today otherwise, or contrary to what they are saying, the decision of the court will remain the same.”

For that explanation why, he described the confrontations within the chamber as unnecessary.

“I do not see the point of that attitude… that unruly behaviour in Parliament is needless. It’s nothing but politics,” he stated.

Dr Asah-Asante identified that Parliament’s try to claim an MP character non grata would no longer stand if the courts dominated in favour of that MP. “You can declare the person persona non grata in Parliament, but the court will reinstate the person if the court deems it fit,” he famous.

He criticised what he described as pointless political posturing. “All these things are unnecessary, very, very unnecessary,” he stated, insisting that the movements seem “nothing but political decisions, other than legal decisions”.

On whether or not confrontations in Parliament are turning into normalised, Dr Asah-Asante stated the construction of the House makes such tensions most likely. “If you have a look at the numbers in Parliament… the minority can do their absolute best, however the majority could have their approach on account of the numbers.

“Every time you see the majority bulldozing their way through using their numbers, you can’t help it. That is the situation on the ground,” he defined.

Dr Asah-Asante prompt each side of the House to undertake a extra cooperative expansion for the sake of nationwide hobby.

“If we really, as a society, want to make the best use of the numbers in Parliament for the best of our people, then there must be cooperation, there must be consensus… to ensure the survival of government business, and by extension, satisfaction of our interests,” he stated.
