The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, says he’s assured there shall be no rerun of the Kpandai parliamentary election because the Supreme Court prepares to ship its ruling at the topic.

This comes after the Supreme Court deferred its ruling at the topic to January 28.

Speaking on The Pulse programme on Joy News, Mr Mohammed clarified that the court docket has no longer postponed court cases however has handiest adjourned sittings to permit for a ruling to be delivered on January 28.

“In fact, there is no postponement of sitting. There is an adjournment of sitting for a ruling to be made on the 28th, based on the arguments of the lawyers for the various respondents and applicants in this particular matter,” he stated.

Mr Mohammed mentioned that the NPP is assured within the energy of its case and can proceed to appreciate the judicial procedure.

“We have set our case, and we do know that the NPP always stays faithful to the law, and we are not going to make a lot of noise out there,” he added.

According to the NPP Deputy General Secretary, the birthday party is satisfied that no additional election will happen within the Kpandai constituency, insisting that the one parliamentary election due there shall be in 2028.

“We know there won’t be any elections in Kpandai, and that is why we went to court. The only election that will happen in Kpandai is the 2028 election,” he stated.

Mr Mohammed pushed aside claims and expectancies of a rerun, urging the ones expecting some other election to watch for the court docket’s choice.

“So if anybody is daydreaming of having elections in Kpandai, they should continue with that particular process, but we await the decision of the Supreme Court on the 28th of January, 2026,” he added.
