The Executive Director of Event Factory Ghana Limited, Nabil Alhassan, has opened up why he has paused the annual Easter Comedy Show.

The event, which takes place every Easter season, did not happen in 2025.

Speaking to Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s leisure analysis programme Showbiz A-Z, Nabil said that although he initiated the event to help enterprise the Ghanaian comedy commerce, he has wanted to droop it for now.

He mentioned that the selection was as a consequence of financial challenges and the dearth of sponsorship help.

“The motive we have got paused a bit is sponsorship. Easter Comedy Show was considered one of many biggest platforms for the fellows. It gave them some kind of mileage they didn’t have on the Charterhouse platform,” he said.

According to him, the current ran effectively for eight years sooner than the break.

The last model occurred on thirtieth March 2024 on the Accra International Conference Centre. It featured performances by Basket Mouth, Oh Joo, Ebenezer Dwomoh, Unknown, Jacinta, Buchi, Koboko, Forever, and Igosave. There have been moreover musical performances from George Jarah, Trigmatic and Kena.

Since its inception, the Easter Comedy Show has hosted a couple of of Africa’s most fascinating comedians, along with OB Amponsah, Lekzy DeComic, Foster Romanus, Jeneral Ntatia, Hogan, Akpororo, Kenny Blaq, Buchi, and Bovi, amongst others.
