Villagers in Maikujera and Gidan Boy communities of Sokoto State faced a bunch of bandits on Friday, killing two of them and convalescing stolen cattle.

The gunmen had previous rustled livestock from Kabunga village in Kware Local Government Area and have been shifting towards Bakura the city in Zamfara State when the villagers intercepted them.

According to the file, courageous youths from the 2 communities engaged the bandits in what was once described as a “fierce gun battle,” managing to get better livestock, rams and camels. Some of the bandits have been killed, whilst others escaped with gunshot wounds.

The recovered animals have been passed over to the Chairman of Rabah Local Government Area for tests and eventual go back to their house owners in Kabunga. Efforts to achieve the chairman have been unsuccessful.
